Learn how to become a birder! This is your chance to learn some birding ID skills in the classroom. We will cover field guide choice/use, optics selection/use, tips for learning bird vocalizations, and identification pitfalls and how to avoid them. Darrell Lawson began birding five years ago and developed an instant passion for our avian friends.  He is the acting president of the Petoskey Regional Audubon Society and is a committee member for the Mackinac Straits Raptor Watch.  He routinely leads field trips in Northwest Michigan and the Eastern Upper Peninsula.
