    Name: Call for Entries: Memories and Art in the Making

    Event Description:
    The Harbor Springs Area Historical Society invites the public to submit original artwork for our summer 2018 exhibit titled "Memories and Art in the Making: Celebrating the Community We Share." This juried exhibit will run from July through September 2018 at the Ephraim Shay Hexagon House at 396 E Main Street, Harbor Springs. Individuals aged 16 and older are encouraged to submit two-dimensional artwork for the exhibit. (One piece of artwork per artist, please). Types of art which will be accepted include but are not limited to: paintings, sketches, mixed-media, and photographs. Pieces should not be larger than 24" x 30". Submissions must relate specifically to the Harbor Springs area, and artist applications are due by May 1, 2018. Detailed submission guidelines and applications are available at the Harbor Springs History Museum, 349 E Main Street. The show will include cash prizes for first, second and third places.

  • Here and There - A Photography Exhibit Here and There - A Photography Exhibit

    An invitational exhibition, “Here and There” considers themes of place in time through three unique bodies of photographic work. Cameras have long been used to capture and preserve the world around us; the artists included in this exhibition photograph their surroundings in order to tell unique, personal, and unexpected narratives. Topics such as privacy, technology, beauty, and the environment are explored in this exhibition through images of varied landscapes.

    CTAC will present the 2019 Juried Photography Exhibition, January 19 though March 30, 2019. Juried by John Fergus-Jean, the call was open to all residents of Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin, and Crooked Tree Arts Center members, regardless of residency.
