Hobbies in the Lobby: Turkish Marbling Demonstration
Come and watch the mysterious and dynamic art of Turkish Marbling on Wednesday, September 25 from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. in the library lobby! This process saw its heyday in Europe during the 17th-19th centuries when artists decorated book covers and end papers with impossibly intricate and colorful patterns. Heidi Reichenbach Finley demonstrates marbling before your eyes; floating paint on liquid and using special tools to create patterns. The design is transferred to paper, resulting in a stunning one-of-a-kind print.
