    The Detroit-based Sphinx Organization is dedicated to transforming lives through the power of diversity in the arts. Featuring four of the nations leading black and Latino artists – who are also recent winners of the Sphinx Competition – this program includes dynamic solo and chamber works. Competition Competitors: Gabriel Cabezas, Xavier Foley, Tom Poster and Elena Uriosti.

    An invitational exhibition, “Here and There” considers themes of place in time through three unique bodies of photographic work. Cameras have long been used to capture and preserve the world around us; the artists included in this exhibition photograph their surroundings in order to tell unique, personal, and unexpected narratives. Topics such as privacy, technology, beauty, and the environment are explored in this exhibition through images of varied landscapes.

    CTAC will present the 2019 Juried Photography Exhibition, January 19 though March 30, 2019. Juried by John Fergus-Jean, the call was open to all residents of Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin, and Crooked Tree Arts Center members, regardless of residency.
