"Painted Lands; In Search of the Group of Seven"
"Painted Lands; In Search of the Group of Seven" is a documentary film by White Pine Pictures that retraces the steps and painting locations of the Group of Seven. The Group of Seven, established in 1920, was a group of landscape artists who established a distinctive painting style by venturing out into the rugged wilderness of Canada and capturing its beauty through their paintings. The film weaves history with modern day adventure and is nominated for several documentary film awards for its breathtaking cinematography. The photography and writer team for the film will be present at the free reception following the film viewing for all those who attend the presentation. This event is open to the public and a joint effort on behalf of the Bay Association Education Department, Crooked Tree Arts Council, Lake Superior Watershed Conservancy, and Tip Of The Mitt Watershed Council and North Central Michigan College.
