DESCRIPTION:Invasive Mussels and the Zequanox Project\n\nA new biocontrol agent to manage nuisance invasive zebra and quagga mussels was recently put to the test in Emmet County's Round Lake. Zequanox\, a dead soil bacterium (Pseudomonas flavescens)\, was applied in open water areas at the bottom of the lake. Funded through the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative\, this research project was a large\, collaborative effort between many state and local organizations.
