The season opens with music from Spain - Sol Espa ol\, featuring the Grand Rapids Guitar Quartet performing Concierto Andaluz for guitars and orchestra by Joaqu n Rodrigo\, and La Tenura by American composer\, Gwyenth Walker\, featuring soprano\, Amy Joy Cross. The Walker piece is a wonderful combination of strings and singing based on the poetry of Chilean poet\, Gabriela Mistral. Additional music by Joaqu n Turina and Juan Arriaga will be performed. The concert is Saturday\, September 23 at 7PM at Hall Auditorium in Bay View\, with a pre-concert talk by Music Director\, Dr. Libor Ondras at 6:15PM.
