DESCRIPTION:The Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce and Tip of the Mitt SCORE Chapter 622 are hosting a present "Protect Your Business From Embezzlement and Cybercrime" seminar on Wednesday\, September 25.\n\n \n\nBecause of the increasing incidents of embezzlement and cybercrime occurring in this area and the seriousness of the consequences to all of the victims\, Tip of the Mitt SCORE and the Petoskey Chamber want businesses to learn how to protect themselves.\n\n\n\nThree speakers will help educate businesses on how to minimize your exposure. Matt Lierstein of Emmet County Sheriff's Office\, started his career as a Road Patrol Deputy where part of duties would include investigation of Embezzlement Cyber Crime. He is now the Detective Sergeant and will discuss cases he has invested involving embezzlement and cyber-crime.                 \n\n\n\nKevin Christman is a CPA with the Petoskey accounting firm of Rasmussen\, Teller\, O'Neil & Christman.  Kevin will explain how a small business can protect itself against embezzlement.\n\n\n\nStaff from the Michigan State Police\, Michigan Cyber Command Center (MC3) will discuss cybersecurity trends including: MC3 resources\, Identifying web addresses\, Identifying email addresses\, Social engineering methods\, Phishing tactics and current trend\, Ransomware and Password security.\n\n\n\nThe seminar will cover measures which you can and should take to prevent embezzlement and cybercrime in your organization.  Bring your questions and get answers from experts.\n\n \n\nThe seminar takes place Wednesday\, September 25 from 8:30am-10am at the Genesis Center 1124 Northmen Dr.\, Petoskey.
