The land is the first part of the story. Simply by being, it invites possibility for expression.
Heidi Marshall's pastel paintings capture the grace, power, and emotion of the land that inspires her. The changing light, complex colors, and the fleeting beauty of a moment hang in each composition. Yet through her sensitive and nuanced marks, the paintings transcend mere documentation. Born from places of great joy, moments of beauty, and contemplation, Marshall's landscapes are expressive representations of her own well of experiences.
Heidi is Crooked Tree's featured artist for this year's Dart for Art and her paintings will be housed in the Gilbert Gallery at CTAC Petoskey starting June 18th and ending September 4th.
