    Located in one of Michigan’s most beautiful, four-season towns, the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce is a trusted and respected local resource and partner. We provide leadership and programs to promote, support and build thriving businesses and a thriving community. With 800 members, an active board and an amazing staff, our positive energy promotes business in the Petoskey region and advances our community’s quality of life.

     

    Candidate Profile

    The Chamber President is a dynamic and visionary leader with a strong presence in the community and a skilled business manager. They are a collaborator and convener, who works to build our community by understanding businesses and meeting their needs. The ideal candidate will develop partnerships and work collaboratively to find creative solutions to deliver results. Reporting to a 16-member board of directors, the President is also responsible for leading a team of four full-time staff.

     

    Key responsibilities

    • Development and execution of the Chamber’s strategic plan

    • Leadership in the community – economic development, business promotion, advocacy

    • Hire, support, and develop staff

    • Establish and manage annual budget

    • Recruit and motivate key volunteers, including a Board of Directors

    • Lead and oversee full range of programs and activities

     

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Association Management or related field

    • Minimum of five years’ experience in business or non-profit leadership role

    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

    • Community involvement

    • Strong financial and business acumen

    • Strategic thinker with strong project management skills
       

    Compensation for this position will range from $60-75,000 annually, plus bonus potential. The Chamber offers benefits that include a retirement plan with match, group health plan, life insurance, and paid time off.
