Northern Michigan Winters: Past, Present, Future
Ann Baughman, Associate Director of Freshwater FutureWinter is a celebrated season in northern Michigan. Historically, snowfall and ice transform our area into a winter playground for downhill and cross-country skiing, ice fishing, skating, and snowshoeing. However, winter is changing – with more variable snowfall amounts, lakes taking longer to freeze, and Little Traverse Bay rarely freezing over. This talk, led by Freshwater Future’s Ann Baughman, will share information on how climate change is impacting northern Michigan winters and how we can prepare and adapt for changing conditions.
This event is in-person and online via Zoom and Facebook. No registration required.
