Light Up The Night - Holiday Parade Downtown Petoskey
The fun and excitement of the holiday season get underway on Saturday, November 27th, with the Annual Downtown Petoskey Holiday Parade. Floats, walkers, trucks, and the Petoskey High School Marching Band and Steel Drum Bands will make their way from Petoskey High School to downtown, beginning at 6 pm.
While the anticipation of seeing Santa (Yes, he’ll be in the parade, too!) grows, bring the little ones to Pennsylvania Park to experience Gingerbread Lane. Family-friendly activities include live music by the Northern Michigan Chorale, hot cocoa, a family photo backdrop, and cookie decorating from 5 – 6 pm. A mailbox will be available in the park, courtesy of Grandpa Shorter’s Gifts, for children to drop off their letters to Santa-be sure to provide a return address. Families are also encouraged to bring unwrapped gifts to donate to Toys for Tots hosted by the U.S. Marine Corps.
Get your friends, sports team, family, church, or other groups together and plan your entry now for those interested in being in the parade instead of just watching. Fill out the form Access Online Application [docs.google.com] and be a part of the magic that will be Downtown Petoskey’s Holiday Parade, “Light Up the Night.”
Sunrise Rotary of Petoskey is coordinating this year’s parade on behalf of Petoskey’s Downtown Management Board. Special thanks to all the elves in the Parks and Rec Department for making this possible.
