Mackinaw Raptor Fest
Come see hawks, owls, and waterbirds as they are studied by biologists. Along with outdoor birding, enjoy indoor programs on Saturday. Hear keynote speaker Mark Martell talk about Golden Eagles of the Eastern U.S. Plenary sessions feature Josh Haas with the debut of a film about raptor identification and Rebecca Lessard bringing live raptors. Break-out sessions include owl research in the Straits of Mackinac, the Hawk Migration Association of North America explaining how data from hawk counts is compiled and used, Jeff Lange of Looncorps with his film “The Uncommon Loon.”
