    Event Description:
    Join the Harbor Springs Area Historical Society as they welcome Frank Ettawageshik, traditional storyteller and artist, for the next installment of their Harbor History Talk series. Ettawageshik's talk will take place on Thursday, September 28, 2017 and will focus on the history of the Ottawa Stadium in Harbor Springs. Today the stadium is the site of school football games and other events, but its history stretches back to 1948 when the Michigan Indian Foundation first constructed the amphitheater to host their annual Indian Naming Ceremony. The talk will begin at 5:30 pm on the second floor of the Harbor Springs History Museum and refreshments will be served. Due to limited seating, reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made by calling the Historical Society at (231) 526-9771.

    Crooked Tree Arts Center in Downtown Petoskey is pleased to present  Ansel Adams: Masterworks for the summer of 2017. The exhibit is comprised of 48 iconic images of Ansel Adams and 1 portrait of Ansel Adams by James Alinder. Late in his life, Adams curated these to serve as a succinct representation of his life’s work. He felt these photographs were his best, called “The Museum Set.” This exhibit will run June 1—September 30, 2017 in the Petoskey galleries. As part of the exhibit there are several special events and complementary programming planned, including workshops, panel discussions, weekly guided tours, lectures, a juried photography show of Our National Parks and more.     The 2017 Juried Fine Arts Exhibition of 2D and relief work will be presented in the Ermy B. & Gordon B. Bonfield Gallery from October 21 through January 6. The 2017 Juried Fine Arts Exhibition is open to all Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Ontario residents, and to all members of Crooked Tree Arts Center regardless of residency. Applicants must be 18 years or older, working in 2D and relief (that can be exhibited on walls).  Awards will be announced at the opening on Saturday, October 21, between the hours of 2-4 p.m. Click for more information.

    The alumnae of the CTAC Artist in Residence Program in Good Hart will participate in the group exhibition Fresh AIR. The exhibit will include recent works by Amanda Boyd, Lindsey Dunnagan, 
    Kirsten Furlong, Amanda Hamilton, Linda Harvey-Opitek, Joanna Hoge, Bill Hosterman, Michael Marks, and Kalina Winska. Click here for more information.
