League of Women Voters to Hold Panel on Community Pesticide Use A virtual panel discussion titled, “Pesticide Use in Your Community: Protecting the Environment and Human Health through Integrated Pest Management“, will be held on February 9 at 5:30 -6:30 pm, and sponsored by The League of Women Voters of Northern Lower Michigan. The forum features speakers from local government, private companies that use pesticide products, environment/land protection and advocacy groups involved with community pest management. The panelists will discuss the environmental and health risks of pesticides and possible solutions to routine public land pesticide use. Panelists include representatives from Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area serving Charlevoix, Antrim, Kalkaska, and Emmet Counties; the City of Charlevoix; Dan's Green Side Up, a local landscape management company; Little Traverse Conservancy; MSU Extension Service, and Tip of the Mitt Watershed Council.
