Coming Home: Northern Michigan Native Returns to Practice Family Medicine in Her Hometown
PETOSKEY, Mich., July 15, 2026 - Table Health, a leading Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice in Northern Michigan, proudly announces the addition of Kendal Hansen, MD, to its Petoskey team. Dr. Hansen, a board-certified family physician and Petoskey native, brings a passion for full-spectrum family medicine and a deep commitment to the patient-centered DPC model.
Dr. Hansen’s arrival expands Table Health’s capacity to offer comprehensive primary care for the entire family, from infants to adults, under one roof. Her practice officially begins this September, and Table Health is actively accepting new patients to her schedule now.
This growth follows Table Health’s recent relocation of its Petoskey office to a new facility at 932 Spring Street, which opened on June 8 to better serve the community.
"We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Hansen back home to Northern Michigan," said Dr. Amy Bodnarchuk, an internal medicine physician at the Petoskey practice. "Her roots in our community, combined with her dedication to individualized, comprehensive family care, perfectly align with Table Health's mission to redefine how healthcare is delivered."
Dr. Hansen's medical journey began locally as a medical assistant at Up North Medical Center in Petoskey, where she decided to pursue a medical degree and specialize in family medicine. Her clinical interests include mental health, women's health, and nutrition, with a strong emphasis on pediatrics and in-office procedures.
Table Health’s DPC membership model offers an alternative to conventional healthcare by eliminating insurance complexities. Members benefit from wholesale labs, transparent pricing, and longer, unhurried appointments that allow doctors and patients to tackle underlying health issues collaboratively.
In addition to direct primary care, Dr. Hansen and Dr. Bodnarchuk will offer medical weight loss and hormonal health services for both men and women. These programs are open to both members and non-members.
“I chose direct primary care because it allows me to care for patients the way I believe they deserve to be cared for. With longer appointment times, I can truly listen, understand each person's unique needs, and create individualized care plans based on what is best for them rather than what an insurance company determines is appropriate,” shared Dr. Hansen.
“DPC also fosters better access and continuity, allowing meaningful, lasting relationships to develop between physician and patient, much like the trusted relationships that once defined primary care. I am excited and grateful to bring this approach to my hometown and to have the opportunity to serve this community alongside the team at Table Health.”
