Perishables Buyer

The Grain Train is looking for a Perishables Buyer to join our team at our Petoskey store! All year-round employees get to take advantage of our employee discount upon hire and are eligible for paid time off, holiday pay, and other great benefits!

The Perishables Buyer is responsible for purchasing all products in the Dairy, Frozen, Packaged Meat, Cheese, and Bread departments. This position sources from local, regional, and national vendors to curate and maintain departments that meet goals for customer demand, sales, merchandising, and profitability. The Perishables Buyer works with the Center Store Manager to determine product mix, and is responsible for placing orders, maintaining inventory, and providing customer service. With the assistance of other department staff, the Perishables Buyer creates a consistently excellent shopping experience for a wide range of customers. You can view the complete job description here.
