Tax Partner, CPA, Petoskey

Dennis, Gartland & Niergarth, a well-established and respected CPA firm located in beautiful Petoskey, MI, is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Tax Partner to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the tax team, offering guidance and mentorship to ensure high-quality, accurate work.
• Take ownership of a personal book of business, cultivating client relationships and contributing to the firm’s growth.
• Oversee and execute tax preparation and planning for individuals, businesses, and nonprofits, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Review complex tax returns and offer strategic guidance on tax-related matters.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients by delivering exceptional service, addressing their unique needs, and providing proactive solutions.
• Contribute to the development and growth of the firm through business development, networking, and maintaining strong client connections.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in tax preparation, tax consulting and leadership roles, in a CPA firm environment.
• Proven track record of managing a team and developing client relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field; CPA certification required.
• Strong technical knowledge of tax law and regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively lead teams and serve clients.
• Must be able to work in-office and be actively engaged in the firm’s day-to-day operations.
